"PADI Discover Scuba"
(Also referred to as a “Resort Course”)
Ambergris Divers PADI Discover Scuba Course lets you experience the marvels of the underwater world!
For those who have never dove before and want to experience Scuba Diving, or for those who have limited time and would like to do some easy diving during your vacation, but do not have enough time for a complete course.
During your adventure, you'll master some basic concepts and scuba skills and experience a colorful shallow water dive surrounded by multitudes of marine life. Course entails watching the short PADI Discover Scuba video, briefing on fundamentals of scuba diving, shallow water skills/gear practice; followed by an Open Water dive.
Schedule: twice daily at 9am or at 2pm. Course/Dive Experience takes about 3hrs total.
This course does not earn a certification.
Includes use of study material and dive gear. Online registration of DSD participation.

With this experience you may dive for a period of 2 weeks with Ambergris Divers to a max depth of 40ft under supervision of our PADI Professional Dive Masters/Instructors, and enjoy Dive Trips regularly scheduled by Ambergris Divers.
You may also upgrade and continue on with the Open Water Diver Certification
"PADI Scuba Diver "
(Scuba certification course, with 40ft depth limit)
Ambergris Divers' PADI Scuba Diver Program, a pre-entry level certification is a subprogram of the PADI Open Water Diver Certification and covers only the first three chapters of a full certification.
This course is ideal for acquiring a certification during your vacation with limited time. Ambergris Divers also has the PADI Junior Scuba Diver available for kids between ages 10-14.
Class work is done in a spacious designated classroom overlooking the Caribbean Sea! As you enjoy the gentle sea breeze you will learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment, planning and safety skills. Apart from these knowledge development sessions, earning the Scuba Diver rating also includes completing confined water skill practice, and two open water reef dives.
Schedule: 2 full days: 9am to noon, 2pm to 5pm.
Earns you a “Scuba Diver Certification” Rating; limited to dive under supervision of a
PADI Professional to max depth of 40ft.
Includes dive gear use, online certification registration.
Course materials are additional, you may purchase 1 per family.

After completing the Scuba Diver program, you'll want to continue your dive education and the PADI Open Water Diver certification would be your next step. Ambergris Divers lets you easily upgrade. Or you may take the remaining requirements of the Open Water course at a later date.
"PADI Open Water Diver course "
(Full Dive Certification Course, lifetime certification)
Ambergris Divers offers the PADI Open Water Diver course, the most popular dive program in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of intense diving adventure.
For those ages 10 to 14 we offer the PADI Junior Open Water Diver program. Age 10 & 11 Jr. Open Water Certified may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 40 feet.
Throughout the course, broken down into 5 chapters, you will learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. Ambergris Divers completes this course in 3 days. Each day comfortably balanced with class sessions for knowledge development and exams; as well as 5 sessions of confined water (skill practices) done off our dock in shallow clear warm waters! The Open Water Rating is completed with 4 open water certifying reef dives to colorful and breathtaking dive sites along the Belize Barrier ensuring maximum marine life experience and enjoyment! Dives 1 & 2 are done at a “easier/shallower” dive sites along the reef. Dives 3 & 4 are completed in a regular dive trip type setting, at dive sites on the fore-reef. So if you are vacationing with divers, they may join you on these last 2 dives!
Schedule: 3 full day: 9:00am to noon, 2:00pm to 5pm
Earns you the “Open Water Diver Certification” rating, lifetime certification; only requires a quick refresher course if you are inactive for a period of 2+years to keep within
Safety Standards. Includes dive gear use, online certification registration.
Course Materials are additional, you may purchase1 per family.

To lots of diving of course! Open Water Rating allows you to dive within the recreational dive planner's confines; exercising dive safety procedures. You may now continue you diver education with the Adventure Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, or selective Specialties.
"Open Water Referral course "
(Completes the Open Water Certification course, from any Training Agency)
Ambergris Divers' offers the Open Water Diver Referral course, for those who have chosen to complete the academic portion of the certification back home. That would have involved all the class & confined water (pool) training. This leaves pending the 4 Open Water certifying dives, in which skills practiced in confined water are carried out in natural dive conditions.
Ambergris Divers completes this referral course in 2 half days. These Open Water dives are completed in colorful and breathtaking reef dive sites along the Belize Barrier ensuring maximum marine life experience and enjoyment! Dives 1 & 2 are done at a “easier/shallower” dive sites along the reef, that make it conducive to carrying on the set of skills required. Dives 3 & 4 are completed in a regular dive trip type setting, at dive sites on the fore-reef. So if you are vacationing with divers, they may join you on these last 2 dives!
Schedule: 2 half days: 9:00am to noon, or 2:00 to 5:00pm. (check availability)
(Safety Standards & Procedures does not allow all 4 dives to be completed in 1 day only)
*Students MUST present original completed copies of referral forms from initiating instructor validating completion of all class, tests & confined water sessions.
For PADI Referrals:
upon certifying dives successful completion certification is processed online and a temporary card issued while your original C-Card is mailed directly to your home address.
For all other Training Agencies (NAUI, SSI, SDI, YMCA, etc…):
Ambergris Divers will complete all relevant referral documents for you to return to your initiating instructor back home where certification registration with the respective Training Agency will be finalized.

"Refresher Course"
(for inactive certified divers, not a certification)
Ambergris Divers offers a variety of very enjoyable SCUBA dive trips. We like saying that it is all about enjoyment once you are diving with us, but the one thing we are very serious about is Diver Safety. In that light, Ambergris Divers, following safety standards, requires all certified divers who have not been SCUBA diving for a period of 2years and more, to complete a Refresher Course. A Refresher Course will take you through diver safety, standard routines and skills and get you tuned back to your 'diving mode.' During this half day course you will cover video and briefings on basic but important theory. You will complete a shallow water session to re-acclimate yourself to the dive gear, verify your weight requirements, brush up on skills like the very important buoyancy control factor. The 1tank open water dive that will follow will equip you well for a wonderful week of amazing diving.
Schedule: 9 am or 2pm. Course + 1tank Dive Experience takes about 3hrs total.
(Certification must be verified. A refresher does not upgrade current certification to another level)
PADI Adventure Diver
(3 Specialty Adventure Dives)
Ambergris Divers offers Open Water Divers or Junior Open Water Divers the Adventure Diver Certification, to broaden their love for SCUBA. With these specialty adventure dives you will acquire more experience to strengthen your underwater skills and knowledge of the marvelous underwater environment we are gifted with. The Ambergris Divers PADI Adventure Diver program lets you choose 3 Adventure Dives (from listing below). Imagine refining your skills to better enjoy the trill of a Night Dive, the added potential and comfort of mastering your buoyancy to enjoy the many colorful and elusive marine creatures. Adventure Dives to choose (3) from:
Boat Diver, Drift Diver, Multilevel Diver, Night Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search and Recovery Diver, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Navigator.
Schedule: 1 half day, plus: 1 afternoon –or- 1 night dive.
Includes use of dive gear, online certification registration.
Course Materials are additional, you may purchase 1 per family.

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
(3 Adventure Dives, plus required Navigation Dive & Deep Dive)
Ambergris Divers offers Open Water Divers or Junior Open Water Divers (15yrs age requirement) the Advanced Open Water Diver Certification, which fine tunes selective skills to broaden your qualities as a SCUBA Diver. The course includes 3 specialty adventure dives (to choose from list below). The 2 additional dives; Navigation Dive and the Deep Dive, strengthen your underwater skills and knowledge to better enjoy the marvelous underwater environment we are gifted with. Adventure Dives to choose (3) from:
Boat Diver, Drift Diver, Multilevel Diver, Night Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy,
Search and Recovery Diver, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Navigator, Deep Diver.

Emergency First Response (EFR)
(A First Aid Primary Care Course)
Ambergris Divers' offers EFR to those requiring the rating to meet progressive program prerequisites, such as PADI Rescue Diver, and PADI Dive master. However, this program proves important in enhancing every day life. Taking this course is a significant step in emergency preparedness; making you feel confident in providing care should an emergency situation arise. As such there is no Scuba certification requirement. The Emergency First Response (EFR) is the fastest-growing international CPR, Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid training course, dedicated to training the lay rescuer, EFR courses encompasses adult, child and infant CPR skills, provides AED and First Aid training, and feature an outstanding First Aid at Work component. The course incorporates independent study to prepare you for a classroom and hands-on skill development session with your instructor. Many divers take the Emergency First Response courses to meet program prerequisites, but many others do so to become better Safety Equipped recreational divers.
Schedule: full day 9-12pm, 2pm-5pm
