This full-format option entails doing all of the training here at Ambergris Divers during your vacation. Throughout the 5-chapter course, you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving in approx/maximum 3 days.
Each day is comfortably balanced with in person classroom sessions for knowledge development and exams, plus in water training. The in water training is made up of confined water sessions to cover all the gear/safety/skills training practicals and 4 exciting open water training dives where you will do all the exercises learned out in the natural reef environment.

The Open Water Rating (full in-person onsite format) is completed with all knowledge developement, shallow water practice sessions, and 4 open water certifying reef dives to colorful and breathtaking dive sites along the Belize Barrier Reef, maximizing your experience and enjoyment with Ambergris Caye’s marine life.
Classroom sessions are in-person at Ambergris Divers. (not online)
Complete dives 1 & 2 in shallower dive sites along the reef, easier for mastering the set of skills required while enjoying full color and marine life interaction.
Dives 3 & 4 are completed during dive trip type settings, at dive sites on the fore-reef. This option is perfect if you are vacationing with already certified divers, as they will want to join you on at least these last two dives.
This course earns you a Full Lifetime Dive Certification.
For those ages 10 to 14, Ambergris Divers offers the PADI Junior Open Water Diver Course, and for those ages 10 & 11, we also offer the PADI Junior Open Water Certification Course, allowing you to only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent, or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 40 feet. If you become inactive for a period of 2+ years, you need only to take the Refresher Course to keep within the PADI Safety Standards.
